Monday, 10/31/11 NEW NOISE

The New Noise Music Conference & Festival takes over downtown Santa Barbara this week Nov 3 thru 6. If you have not experienced the full on sensory assault of this event than now is the time. Now in it's 3rd year the fest features a shit ton of stellar shows all over SB, educational music biz classes from industry professionals, community building projects, roof top parties and too much stuff to list. It's like a mini South By Southwest right here in the 805. Even yours truly will be on the Live Music/Touring panel on Nov 5 at the Canary Hotel along with Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and Nederlander Don Moss Jacobs. For tickets and info go to newnoisesb.com. And as if all that wasn't enough to move ya all, the proceeds from the festival will be donated to the re-opening of The Living Room, the beloved all ages diy non-profit club that defined the 805 music scene years ago.

Wednesday, 8/10/11 LEGENDS AMONG US

We have some straight up bow down iconic figures in our presence this week starting with the Dogfather SNOOP DOG doing a special club performance at SLO Brew on Tuesday, August 9. Several hundred lucky souls will witness Snoop do his thang in the intimate confines of the Brew. Later in the week legendary TSOL frontman JACK GRISHAM who redefined punk rock as we know it, will grace us with his presence. Jack will be reading excerpts from his diabolical new book "An American Demon", as well as telling tall tales from his storied past and also open the floor for a no-holds-barred question & answer session. This all happens on Saturday, August 13 at Zoey's in Ventura and Sunday, August 14 at Boo Boo Records in SLO. In the eyes of many, NICK 13, the mastermind of gothic punkabilly trio TIGER ARMY, is an icon in his own right. Nick 13 will be taking his punkified country-tinged solo act to Velvet Jones in SB on Thursday, August 11 and SLO on Friday, August 12
