Rooted in bluegrass and branching into jam, soul, and classic country, the Matt Michienzie Band brings a high-energy, genre-blending sound to the stage. Based in Los Angeles, the progressive acoustic outfit features fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, and guitar, led by Massachusetts native and heartfelt songwriter Matt Michienzie. In just the last few years, the band has been making serious waves—winning top honors at both the Topanga Banjo & Fiddle Contest and Huck Finn Jubilee’s Band Competition, and sharing the stage with acts like AJ Lee & Blue Summit, Kitchen Dwellers, Hot Buttered Rum, and Water Tower. Their festival appearances include Long Beach Bluegrass Festival, Rambling Peaks, Western Swingout, Road to WonderGrass, and a recent European tour with stops in Germany and France. The band’s debut EP is set for release in early 2025.
